Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

We have compiled a list of answers to the most common questions. In case your question is not listed here, email us at: info@mpartworks.com

PERSONALIZE WITH OUR NAMES/DATE/LOCATION?
How do I get our names/location/ceremony date on the ketubah?

This is called personalization. When you choose to personalize your ketubah, you will be asked to supply all the info necessary for us to fill out your ketubah text properly. If you do not have us personalize it, a calligrapher or officiant will need to handwrite everything in the blanks.

HEBREW NAMES?
How do I get our Hebrew names on the ketubah? How do I personalize it?

When ordering, be sure to choose that you want your ketubah personalized. You will be able to enter all the personalization info (names, ceremony date, location, etc.). You can also email the personalization to info@mpartworks.com.

NO HEBREW NAMES?
My fiancé does not have a Hebrew name, so what do we do for the Hebrew text?

We are happy to transliterate their English name into Hebrew. In other words, we will spell their English name phonetically using Hebrew letters so that someone reading the Hebrew text aloud would say their English name. We do the same thing with the city and state of the wedding location.

PROOF?
Will we receive a proof of our ketubah and can you send one to our officiant, too?

Yes, we will email a proof to you (and to your officiant if you provide their info) so that we can be sure everything looks perfect before we print your ketubah. It generally takes 1-2 business days to receive your proof.

SIGNATURE LINES?
Can we change the titles on the signature lines?

Yes, we can change the signature lines any way you’d like. We often will replace “Rabbi” with “Cantor” or “Officiant,” for example, or use three witness lines instead of only two.

TEXT?
Which text should I pick?

Start by narrowing down the category - Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, Interfaith, Same-Sex, Secular Humanistic, Secular Nonreligious, Anniversary/Renewal. Then, read through the texts. I, II, and III are more traditional sounding. IV, V, and VI are more romantic and contemporary. Note: Same-sex texts are also available in all of the Reform, Interfaith, Secular Humanistic, Secular Nonreligious, and Anniversary/Renewal texts.

COMBINE TEXTS?
I would like to take out a few words from your text. I picked out Reform IV, but I want to add a line from Reform V. Can I do that?

Yes, you will be able to choose “Minor Customization of Existing Texts” and leave a comment about how you’d like to combine the texts.

CUSTOM TEXT?
I have a different text I’d like to use instead of one of yours. Can we do that?

Yes, we can do a custom text for you at an additional cost and have it translated, if necessary. Email the text to info@mpartworks.com. If you are using a copyrighted text, please first ask permission from the copyright owner as we will not print the text without it.

JUST TEXT?
I love your text, but I am having someone else design our ketubah. Can we purchase just the text?

Yes, we have several options for purchasing one of our copyrighted texts here.

HOW LONG?
How long will it take to get our ketubah?

A proof will be sent within 1-2 business days. Custom orders will typically have a proof within 5 business days.
Once the proof is approved, we usually ship fine art paper prints within 1-5 business days.
Canvas prints, papercuts, framing and wrapping add 2-4 weeks.
NO RUSH CHARGES ever, but you may have to pay extra for expedited shipping.

STANDARD/KETUBAH4LESS?
What’s the difference between Standard and ketubah4less edition?

Standard editions are larger and the limited edition run is smaller (more rare) than the ketubah4less editions. You can see the design’s dimensions and limited edition size in the detail section for each design.

PAPER/CANVAS?
What’s the difference between fine art paper and fine art canvas?

A ketubah printed on fine art paper will end up beimg framed under glass with a matte. A ketubah printed on canvas will eventually be stretched like a painting and will not be framed under glass.

THIRD LANGUAGE?
Can we have a third language in addition to Hebrew and English texts?

Yes, we can for an additional cost. Not every design will work..For example, you will need to pick a design where the text is all in one area and is not split in two (left and right sides of a tree).

PHOTO KETUBAH?
Where do I attach the photo I want to use for my ketubah?

Once you place your order you will get an automatic email order confirmation. If you reply to that and attach the largest/highest res file of your image, we will know your order number and will use your image for your ketubah. We will contact you with any questions.

FRAME?
How can I sign it if it’s framed? What kind of frames do you have?

DIY Frame - (fine art paper only) The ketubah is fully framed, but the acrylic “glass” is under the ketubah until after it is signed. Then, someone will take it apart to put the acrylic on top.
Gallery/Museum Wrap - (fine art canvas only) The canvas ketubah is wrapped around 1.5” stretcher bars and comes ready to sign and hang. A museum wrap will have white edges. A gallery wrapped ketubah will have the design extended around the edges.
Temporary Foam Core Mount - Used as a temporary display at the ceremony, the ketubah is placed under a clear plastic sheet using archival corners on a piece of white foam core. The plastic sheet is lifted up for signing. It does not damage the ketubah in any way and will be shipped flat.

PEN?
What kind of pen do I use to sign?

For signing on fine art paper, we recommend and sell a black Sharpie fine-point pen (not marker) as seen here.
For signing on fine art canvas, we recommend and sell a black Sharpie extra fine-point permanent marker as seen here.

CAN I…?
Can you add/change/make the ketubah design/color/font/wording this special custom way I want?

Probably! Email info@mpartworks.com with your idea and we’ll figure it out from there.
